Hi, I’m Cory, a passionate commercial lawyer based in Edmonton, Alberta, and I’m excited to help clients navigate their legal journeys!

I proudly became a member of the Alberta Bar in 2015 and embarked on my exciting legal career with a dynamic boutique law firm specializing in commercial real estate matters in Alberta. During this time, my practice primarily centered on:

• Commercial Leasing – Acted for landlords and tenants to negotiate leases of office, industrial and retail spaces.
• Real Estate Financing – Assisted lenders with the preparation of security on financing and re-financing transactions related to property.
• Real Estate Purchases and Sales – Acted for a variety of developers and investors on the purchase or sale of properties. Also, from time to time, I assisted clients with the purchase or sale of residential real estate.
• General Real Estate Matters – Sometimes clients weren’t working on a specific transaction, but had general questions about development, municipal compliance and land use, registration of instruments on title, liens, and other property related matters which I was happy to assist on.
• Corporate – Assisted small to mid-size businesses with incorporation, management of their minute book, and the sale of their business or purchase of another.

In addition to practice in Alberta, from time to time I assisted clients with matters in Ontario and British Columbia.

In 2022 I followed my passion for being more engrained in the business processes of a company and joined a Canadian publicly traded independent power producer as legal counsel. As legal counsel I advised on numerous matters, including project development, real estate matters, commercial and supply chain negotiations, regulatory compliance, governance and policy, and disputes. My time as in-house legal counsel provided me with a unique perspective on how counsel can add value to a business and its processes.

When I’m not busy at work, you’ll find me passionately rooting for my beloved Edmonton Oilers, and cheering on McLaren and Williams in Formula 1. And of course, I spend quality time with my wife and two daughters, which usually involves much chasing and negotiating candy deals that rivals some of my most serious legal matters!
